April 22: Why The Uproar?
RESPONSE: At the risk of being raked over the coals for this, I truly do not understand why there has been such an uproar over Pope Benedict's visit to America. He's a man, period. Yes, he is the head of the Roman Catholic Church; so what? I have no need for someone to supposedly be between me and God.
I can read my Bible, pray, and worship without the help of a Pope, Bishop, or Priest.
I do not need all the trappings the Catholic Church has come up with over the centuries.
They have taken something simple, like salvation, and done their best to make it complicated.
Yes, I go to church, not because of a person, but because God commands it.
