Cinco De Mayo Festival On Sunday
An annual celebration of Cinco de Mayo, the date marking an important military victory in Mexico's history, will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on May 4 at East Texas Fairgrounds, 2000 W. Front St., Tyler.
The event traditionally attracts thousands who celebrate Hispanic culture though music, food and special events.
This year's Cinco de Mayo celebration is being sponsored by Waller Broadcasting and Brisa Radio Network: KDVE-FM, KXAL-FM and KEBE-FM.
Program director Santiago Gutierrez will serve as the master of ceremonies and on-air personalities will be in attendance to introduce the bands that will be performing and spinning music, organizers said.
The featured act will be Aniceto Molina y sus Tigres Cumbianderos.
There also will be food booths, games and special activities for children, organizers said.
Admission is free.
