TMA SENIOR DAY
All art enthusiasts age 65 and older are invited for a special day of free admission on Monday for the Tyler Museum of Art’s new exhibition, Graham Williford’s America.

The Museum, regularly closed on Mondays, will open its doors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday for Seniors Day, waiving the admission fee for participants to tour Graham Williford’s America. This historic exhibition celebrates the legacy of Graham Devoe Williford, the late art connoisseur from Fairfield, who is regarded as one of the leading forces in rekindling interest in the study and collecting of 19th-century American art.

Graham Williford’s America features close to 60 oil paintings, sketches and works on paper by celebrated artists including Thomas Cole, Winslow Homer, Maxfield Parrish, John Singer Sargent and James McNeill Whistler, offering a panoramic view of some of the most important contributions to American art of the era, TMA Director Kim Bush Tomio said. Groups are encouraged to attend Seniors Day, but reservations are requested by calling 903-595-1001.

Seniors Day sponsor is Texas Spine and Joint Hospital. Exhibition support for Graham Williford’s America is provided by The Graham Williford Foundation for American Art, Amy and Vernon Faulconer, Tyler Morning Telegraph, Texas Commission on the Arts, Kathie and Leo Mack, Barbara and Billy Bass, Dr. James and Norma Cotton, Fairfield Inn by Marriott and Austin Bank. Corporate Member sponsors are Dermatology Associates of Tyler and Tyler Cancer Center. Media sponsor is KLTV Channel 7.

Graham Williford’s America, organized by the Tyler Museum of Art, continues through May 11 in the TMA’s North Gallery.
