Rusk/Smith County Forestry Landowners To Meet Saturday
OVERTON - Rusk/Smith County Forestry Landowners Association will meet 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday at Texas A&M Research and Extension Center in Overton,

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Admission is $15 and includes lunch, said member Mark Walter.

The program includes:

  • Eric Taylor, Texas A&M University Experiment Station at Overton, "Timber, Landowners, and Biofuels in Texas;"

  • Carl Burris, CPA, "Timber and Federal Income Tax;"

  • Bob Minton, attorney, "Landowner Considerations for Oil, Gas and Pipeline Leases/Easements and Damages;"

  • Dick Counts, beekeeper, "Bees and Their Contributions;"

  • Ron Hufford, TFA executive secretary, "Texas Forestry Update;"

  • The nonprofit organization assists in the development of forestry. The public may attend.
