Institute of Peace Officer to Speak at TJC
David J. Smith, senior officer at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., will speak at Tyler Junior College’s 18th annual International Day on Tuesday, April 22.
His free presentation is set for 11:30 a.m., in the Apache Rooms of Rogers Student Center on the main campus, said information from the college.
As a senior program officer in the Institute’s Education and Training Center/Domestic, he focuses on conflict resolution and peace studies.
Before that, he taught college and was a conflict mediator.
As a Fulbright scholar in 2003-04, Smith taught peace studies and alternative dispute resolution at the University of Tartu in Tartu, Estonia.
