Salvation Army's Spring Sale Begins Friday
Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary is gearing up for Friday’s opening of its two-day Spring Sale, benefiting community programs and services.
The event is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Salvation Army’s complex, in the area of Spring and Bow streets.
With so many items available, there's little time to waste, said publicity chair Billie Jenkins.
“There are three buildings in which to shop, The Spence, The Market Place and The Clothing Building,” Mrs. Jenkins said. “These buildings will be very visible to our clients with the usual large banners hung. The clothing will be in the larger Community Center Building several feet away but it will be well marked.”
The Market Place will include new furniture, donated by Ashley Furniture HomeStore.
“There are beautiful dining room table tops with leaves, bedroom headboards and footboards and a large selection of hutch tops and entertainment centers,” said event chair Robbie Davis.
Some pieces, damaged in shipping, may need slight repairs, she said.
The Clothing Building contains new and used clothing, ranging from infants to plus sizes, and a boutique featuring designer labels and men’s clothing.
“We have rack after rack of sample children's clothing ranging in size from infants to teens - priced from $2 to $6,” said event chair Lynn Dowell.
Flower arrangements, luggage, dinnerware, lighting fixtures, books, toys and home furnishings will also be offered.
Donations to the Tyler Salvation Army corps are welcomed at the Family Store during business hours. Pick-ups may be arranged by calling 903-592-4361.
