UT Instructors Serve On Refuge Care Board
Clinical Instructor Deborah Bell and Associate Professor Dr. Debbie Mahoney of the University of Texas at Tyler nursing school are serving on the Refuge International board, a mission group that received a $25,000 grant from Kiwanis International this month aimed at treating children in Guatemala for intestinal worms.

"Adios Lombrices" is the project's name, which translates to "goodbye worms." The medication used is a chewable tablet that is administered biannually. Refuge International has treated children in four Guatemalan states. The organization is looking to expand and receive more grants for such purposes.
