T.K. Gorman, Buckeyes Take First At Meet

The T.K. Gorman girls track team earned another victory Thursday.
The Lady Crusaders, who have won eight TAPPS state championships in the last nine years, scored 198 points to win the Crusader Relays at McCallum Stadium.
TKG, which moved up to Class 5A last season, held off Gilmer for the team title by six points. The Lady Crusaders prevailed without winning any relay events.

Grace Community finished third with 95 points and All Saints placed fourth with 93 points.
Gilmer won the boys division title in dominant fashion, scoring 209 points to sprint away from the field. The Buckeyes were followed by TKG (164 points), Grace (111 points) and All Saints (40 points).
The Lady Crusaders registered six gold-medal performances: Toni Anderson in the 400-meter dash (68.97); Mia Behm in the 1600-meter run (5:14.56); Valerie Lindenmuth in the high jump (5-00); Melody Owens in the shot put (33-08 1/2); Hanna Krizmanic in the pole vault (7-00); and Molly King in the discus (97-07).
Gilmer won the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, while All Saints placed first in the 4x200.
On the boys side, Gilmer captured victory in all three relays. The Buckeyes clocked in at 45.59 in the 4x100, 1:34.58 in the 4x200 and 3:42.39 in the 4x400.
T.K. Gorman will also be the site for the Jack B. Elliott Relays next Thursday.
TKG, along with Tatum, Arp and other area private schools are scheduled to compete.
