A 40-year-old Lindale man convicted of molesting and raping a 10-year-old girl was sentenced Friday to life in prison.

A 40-year-old Lindale man convicted of molesting and raping a 10-year-old girl was sentenced Friday to life in prison.
Tommy Robinson was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault and was sentenced to the maximum prison term and a $10,000 fine after a Smith County jury deliberated for about 15 minutes.
Assistant Smith County District Attorney Richard Vance said Robinson raped, molested and hurt the 10-year-old girl. He told her that if she said anything to any one, he would have someone shoot the girl’s mother in the head, Vance said.
An 8-year-old girl testified Friday that Robinson raped her.

A 7-year-old girl called to the stand to testify against Robinson held her head down and didn’t answer any questions from attorneys.
A 16-year-old girl testified that Robinson repeatedly beat her when she was 5 and until she was 11 years old.
Robinson, who was represented by Melvin Thompson, will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years in prison.
