CANTON - Edgewood, led by medalist Dillon Phillips, captured the Edgewood Invitational Golf Tournament Monday at Van Zandt Country Club.

The Bulldogs, the two-time defending Class 2A state champions, won by two strokes over the Grace Community Cougars.

Edgewood had a total of 316, while Grace was at 318. Canton was third at 321.

Phillips won the gold medal with a 71, while Grace's William Estes was runner-up at 74. Craig Walters was third at 74 and Mount Vernon's Taylor Phillips was fourth with a 74 as well.

Canton won the girls division with a 406. Athens was second at 478. Alba-Golden's Kelsey Kirkpatrick won medalist honors with a 77, while Canton's Jordan Bozeman was second with a 90. Canton's Natalie Mann was third at 98.
