March 27: Moved to Social Security
Open Letter to Congressman Gohmert:
Since 1983, all members of Congress have been required to pay into Social Security. That means that all those elected to serve, executive branch members, federal judges, political appointees and all congressional staff went off the old Civil Service Retirement System and went on the Social Security System. That would include Sen. Kennedy, and probably Vice President Cheney, former Secretary Rumsfeld and President George H.W. Bush during their congressional service. There are no exclusions, or special favors for anyone. That’s the law and you should know that.
