A memorial service for Jackson Huse, a 6-year-old Arp boy, is set for 3:10 p.m. Friday at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler.
The start of the funeral was selected to coincide with the dismissal bell at Arp schools, said Patricia Parnell, friend of the family.
“Hearts all over Arp are full of grief and heartache over the loss of this child,” she said.
The Jackson Huse foundation has been established at Arp State Bank to receive donations to help other families in similar circumstances.
Huse is survived by, among others, his parents, Doug and Johna Huse; sister, Meredith; and brothers, Dillon and Mason, all of Arp.
A visitation/reception will follow the service at Pirtle Hall at Marvin United Methodist Church. Private burial services will be held at Mason Cemetery in Arp.
For the past two years, residents of Arp supported the family with cards of encouragement and community events to help the Huses with finances while the child received treatment for brain cancer in Houston.
