Azalea 10K Run Set For Next Weekend
In just a week, runners will once again converge on Tyler to partake in its annual Azalea 10K run.

The run will be held March 29 beginning at Bergfeld Park, starting at 8 a.m. Registration is available on the Internet at www.tylerazalea10k.com, and late registration will be available from 6:30-8:30 a.m. the morning of the event.

Runs available include the 10K, a 2-mile run/walk and a kid's 50-yard dash. There will be an awards ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. that morning following the race.

For those that pre-register, the price of the race will be $25. Those who register the morning of the event will be charged $30. The 2-mile run/walk will cost $15 for adults, children 12-under participating in either race will cost $10 and the 50-yard dash will be free for all participants.

Also, this year's race will use chip timing, featuring the latest chip timing system, IPICO.

Chips will be attached to each runner's shoes and runners will receive loaner chips the morning of the race.

Pre-registers can pick up packets March 27 or 28 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at Racquet and Jog on South Broadway in Tyler or at Tyler's in Dallas, located at 5710 W. Lovers Lane.

The Tyler Azalea 10K benefits the Children's Village, which provides 24-hour, long term residential foster care for more than 220 boys and girls from the Tyler area.
