Brookhaven Signs Bullard Setter Lust
Bullard senior setter Whitney Lust is set to play volleyball for Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch.
Brookhaven, a Division III junior college, has won the Metro Athletic Conference title each of the last four years. The Lady Bears captured the national championship in 2004 and 2005, finished fourth in 2006 and third in 2007.
Lust has played club volleyball with SportVolleyball out of Tyler for the past three years.
"I"ve coached Whitney since she was 15 years old," said SportVolleyball club director Scott Dillingham. "She's always been a great player. Her volleyball IQ is one of the highest I've ever seen.
"As a setter, she has range and tempo, and she is a natural leader."
Lust earned District 14-3A first-team honors as a senior.
