RUSK - Doris Calvin Robinson, a 13-year city employee, was indicted in February for theft of property and was released from Cherokee County custody Monday, according to jail records.

District Attorney Elmer Beckworth confirmed Thursday that Robinson, 60, was indicted last month for allegedly taking more than $100,000 from the city of Rusk, a first-degree felony.

She also was indicted for tampering with government records, a state jail felony.

Her name was excluded on the indictment list released to the Tyler Paper on Feb. 25 because she had not been arrested at the time.

Monday, Robinson surrendered to law enforcement and was released on $10,000 bond.

Beckworth confirmed Robin-son worked for the city of Rusk in the water department and had other responsibilities throughout the term of employment, from July 1994 until her termination in January 2007.

"We anticipate a date will be set for arraignment in the next month or two," Beckworth said.

Rusk City Manager Mike Murray would not comment on the investigation at the advice of the district attorney.

Robinson is married to Jacksonville City Councilman Hubert Robinson.
