Healing Service Planned Sunday At Flint Church
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church of Flint, 10696 County Road 1299, will hold a healing service at 4 p.m. Sunday. The approximately three-hour service will include "adoration," which is a focus on the Blessed Sacrament, a talk and Mass with parish priests hearing confessions," said information from event organizers.

"Father Glenn Fontana, a healing minister in the style of Father DeGrandis," will be the speaker. The service is open to all people of all denominations.

"Father Glenn is bringing the love and healing of Jesus to the people in the Tyler Diocese."

  • Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S. Bois d'Arc Ave., has received Jerry F. Davidson as music director, announced the Rev. Harrison McLeod on Saturday. Davidson previously served in that capacity at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Orleans and was Visiting Professor of Music at Loyola University in New Orleans. He has served as organist and choirmaster at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church of Hammond, La., and at St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Hot Springs, Ark.

  • "We are so please to have someone with Jerry's enthusiasm and range of experience," said Beth Whitney, search committee chairwoman.

    Davidson was chosen after a national search was conducted.

  • The East Texas Church Librarians Association will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Texas Store of Bullard on Highway 69 South in the Coffee Bar meeting room.

  • Texas author Jan Tompson of Jacksonville will be the guest speaker.
