Faulconers' Gift Begins Medical Science Chair
Vernon and Amy Faulconer
A distinguished chair in medical science at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center was made possible, thanks to a $1 million gift from Tyler oilman Vernon Faulconer and his wife, Amy.

Faulconer founded Vernon E. Faulconer Inc., an independent oil and gas production company in Tyler, and he serves as its chief executive officer.

A native of El Dorado, Kan., he attended Grinnell College in Iowa, where he and his wife met as fellow students. In 2003 Faulconer received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Grinnell, where he has been a board member for more than two decades.

The Faulconers presented the gift to Southwestern Medical Foundation. It will create the Amy and Vernon E. Faulconer Distinguished Chair in Medical Science.
