Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary To Hold Fashion Show

Fashions may come and go, but fundraising is always in style when it benefits the Salvation Army, according to members of the Women's Auxiliary.
Fashions may come and go, but fundraising is always in style when it benefits the Salvation Army, according to members of the Women's Auxiliary.
The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary is poised to host its 13th annual spring luncheon and fashion show, featuring couture designs donated by members and friends.
Doors open at 11 a.m. March 4 at the First Baptist Church, 412 W. Ferguson St., in the third floor auditorium. The show begins at 11:30 a.m.
"A lot of these items are new and some have been gently used, but this does not deter savvy Tyler women from shopping with us," said Billie Jenkins, publicity chair. "Women's resale shops are big time in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc, and many Army Auxiliaries rake in the big time money with their annual shows. Last year's Dallas benefit raised more than $5 million so there's no stigma anymore - just smart women with happy husbands."
Tickets are $25 per person, including complimentary valet parking and opportunity to win door prizes. For tickets, call 903-566-6897.
Selections included in the sale come in all sizes and designer labels, include Escada, St. John, Ann Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Dana Buchman, Ellen Tracey, Chico, City Girl and Harve Bernard.

"Along with the fun glitz and glamour, the show also provides an opportunity for our Army Representative Captain Melanie Falin to share news about the programs provided here for those in need," said Cathryn Duncan, show coordinator. "There aren't many events held where one leaves with heaps of the most incredible bargains in town and a happy heart, knowing their shopping dollars help those less fortunate."
Runway models appearing at the event include Erica Langford, Dee Ann Hahn, Jane Spence, Tisa Hibbs, Phyliss Weiss, Sherry Munn, Martha Saxon, Linda Edwards, Sandra Weakley, Sally Rowland, Doris Sharp, Nina Gibbs, Katie Price, Evelyn Jordan, Mary Jane Williams and Patty Shamp.
Enlisted greeters include Pat Cross and Virginia Barron. Behind-the-scene support will be provided by Peggy Honeycutt, Myrt Dean, Jean Mueller and Neva Wade with table arrangements designed by Mollie Goss and Rea White.
