League Of Women Voters Holding Candidate Forum
The League of Women Voters of Tyler/Smith County and the Tyler Public Library will hold a forum with candidates for county offices at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the Taylor Auditorium of the Tyler Public Library.  A “meet and greet” with the candidates begins at 6:30 p.m. and the forum gets under way at 7 p.m.

Forum participants include Alan Brown and Christi Kennedy, candidates for 114th district court judge; J.B. Smith and Andy Dunklin, candidates for Smith County sheriff; Mike Boyter, Derrell Cooper and Jeff Ware, candidates for county commissioner, Precinct 1; and Toby Cross, Terry L. Phillips and Bobby Van Ness, candidates for county commissioner, Precinct 3.

Pam Lisner, debate coach at All Saints High School, will moderate the event and the candidates will be questioned by a panel consisting of staff writer Roy Maynard from the Tyler Morning Telegraph; Vanessa Curry, professor of journalism at the University of Texas at Tyler; and Bonnie Hardaway, member of the League of Women Voters of Tyler/Smith County. The audience will also be able to ask questions of the candidates during the forum.
