Trial For 'Madison Street Murders' Getaway Driver Begins
The capital murder trial for the alleged getaway driver in the "Madison Street Murders," which resulted in two people killed and two others injured, is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Timothy Johnson, 55, faces life in prison if convicted of capital murder.

Attorneys in 114th District Judge Cynthia Stevens Kent's court selected 12 jurors and one alternate juror Wednesday, and evidence in the trial is set to begin Tuesday morning.

Korrenthin Dwayne Baker, 29, the alleged gunman, has also been charged with capital murder and faces the death penalty, if convicted.

His trial is scheduled for April.

Johnson and Baker also have each been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Sept. 26, 2006, shootings.

Early in the morning that day, Tyler police discovered Gary Mosley, 49, dead in a chair on the front porch of 2410 Madison St., and Unnice Rogers, 41, dead inside the residence. Found critically injured were George Cain, 37, and Presley Williams, 49.

Johnson is represented by Melvin Thompson and LaJuanda Lacy, while assistant Smith County district attorneys Joe Murphy and Jason Parrish are prosecuting the case.
