Police Investigate Death of Infant
Tyler police are investigation the death of a 9-month-old child who apparently drowned in a bathtub Saturday.
Don Martin, Tyler police information officer, said officers are being told that the child and a 19-month-old sibling were left in a bathtub together, apparently at least briefly, unsupervised.
The child’s mother and an adult man were in the woman’s apartment at Abby Apartment Homes, 4917 Thistle, at the time and called police at 10:56 a.m. on Saturday.
An autopsy of the toddler is being performed in Dallas and the case remains under investigation, said a news release.
