Were You 'Spotted' At 'A Winter Gala'?
A Winter Gala 2008, the Tyler Rose Museum's 15th annual fundraiser was held on Friday, 1/4/08, at the Tyler Rose Garden Center.
The evening's events were highlighted by the announcement of the 2008 Texas Rose Festival Queen, Sarah Elizabeth Clyde, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Clyde IV of Tyler, and Duchess Of The Rose Growers, Elizabeth Katelyn Horton, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth D. Horton of Tyler. This year's theme will be "A Royal Tribute to the Rose" and the Rose Festival will be held October 16-19, 2008.
A reception with museum tours began at 7 pm, followed by a seated dinner and dancing. The new Executive Director of the Texas Rose Festival is Julie Ischy; she also serves as Executive Director and Curator of the Tyler Rose Museum.
