A wildcat field will see the Cole Well No. 3 drilled by Chalker Energy Management II. The well is 5.2 miles southeast of Longview in the Hill, J Survey, A-300. This well will hit 11,200 feet and may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. In a lease 4.2 miles northwest of Karnack, in the Woodlawn (Cotton Valley) Field, the Beatrice Key Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Forest Oil. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Watkins, RO Survey, A-752. This well may also be drilled in the Woodlawn (Pettit-Page) Field, a wildcat field, the Woodlawn (Travis Peak) Field or the Woodlawn (Travis Peak -A-) Field. The Magrill Well No. 2 is 1.7 miles northeast of Hallsville in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Holbert, J Survey, A-305 drilled by NEG Operating. The A.C. Garrett GU Well No. 16 will be drilled 10.2 miles southeast of Longview in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Lee, I Survey, A-237 and will be drilled by Anadarko E&P.
Leon County
The A.G. Hill Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 3 will be drilled by Ensight III Energy Management. The well is 2.5 miles northeast of Jewett in a wildcat field. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the I&GN RR Co. Survey A-987 and may also be drilled in the Jewett (Travis Peak) Field.
Limestone County
The Farrar (Cotton Valley Lime) Field will see three wells drilled by XTO Energy. The Perlitz Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 18 is 15.5 miles southeast of Groesbeck. This well may also be drilled in the Farrar (Travis Peak) Field. The Perlitz Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 19 is 15.4 miles southeast of Groesbeck. This well may also be drilled in the Farrar (Travis Peak) Field. The Perlitz Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 20 is 15.1 miles southeast of Groesbeck. This well may also be drilled in the Farrar, Southeast (Pettit) Field or the Farrar (Travis Peak) Field. All three wells will hit 14,500 feet in the Rejon, MC Survey, A-26. The TXU Mining Company Unit B Well No. 1 will be drilled 6.7 miles northwest of Bald Prairie in the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. Samson Lone Star will drill the Faith GU 1 Well No. 2 in the Douglass, West (Travis Peak) Field. The well is 12.5 miles northwest of Nacogdoches in the Tobar, J Survey, A-54. This well will hit 12,000 feet and may also be drilled in the Miyagi (Pettit) Field, the Little Ears (Pettit Lime) Field, a wildcat field or the Nacogdoches, East (James Lime) Field.Panola County
The Payne Well No. 10 and the Furrh B Well No. 5 will be drilled by Samson Lone Star in the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field to 13,000 feet. The No. 10 is five miles southwest of DeBerry in the Gillaspy, G Survey, A-223. The No. 5 is four miles south of DeBerry in the Thompson, S Survey, A-673. Robertson County
Burlington Resources Oil & Gas will drill the BR/Margerum Gas Unit Well No. 2 and the BR Petty Well No. 1 in the Savell (Bossier Sand) Field. The No. 2 well is 6.2 miles east of Franklin in the Viesca, JM Survey, A-46 and will hit 16,800 feet. The No. 1 well is 4.6 miles southeast of Franklin in the Henry, H Survey, A-17.
Rusk County
In a lease 13.5 miles southwest of Henderson in the Pleasant Grove Field, the K.C.R. Timberland Ltd. Well No. 1 will be drilled by Machin & Associates. The well will hit 4,200 feet in the May, G Survey, A-25. This well may also be drilled in the Pleasant Grove (Shallow) Field or a wildcat field. Chinn Exploration is preparing to drill the Moyers A Well No. 2 in the Henderson, East (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will hit a depth of 11,250 in the Langham, R Survey, A-478. Location of the well will be 7.3 miles west of Henderson. This well may also be drilled in the County Lake (Travis Peak) Field. In a lease 3.3 miles southwest of Henderson, in a wildcat field, the Gilson Well No. 4 will be drilled by Rusk EnErgy Management. The well will hit 11,000 feet in the Jones, T Survey, A-450. This well may also be drilled in the Henderson, East (Cotton Valley) Field. Nana Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 11 and the Spikes Gas Unit 1 Well No. 15 will be drilled by National Onshore in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. The No. 11 is 5.4 miles east of Henderson in the White, JM Survey, A-813. The No. 15 is 4.7 miles southeast of Henderson in the Pecks, SR Survey, A-620. The wells may also be drilled in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field. Depth of both wells will be 12,000 feet. The J.B. Goldsmith Well No. 58 and the Kirkland, P.J. Well No. 7 will be drilled by Pioneer Exploration in the Quitman (Rodessa) Field. The No. 58 well is four miles west of Quitman in the Allen, J Jr. Survey, A-20. The No. 7 well is 3.7 miles northwest of Quitman in the Goodsir, E Survey, A-254. Both wells will hit 8,700 feet and may also be drilled in the Quitman (Kirkland) Field.

The No. 7 well bottoms at 12,835 feet and potentialed 1.068 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 26/64-inch choke. The No. 6 well bottoms at 12,935 feet and potentialed 1.430 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 26/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.
Freestone County
The Hugh D. Whitaker Gas Unit II Well No. 3 has been completed by XTO Energy in the Bear Grass Field. The well is 1.4 miles southeast of Donie with a depth of 14,350 feet. When gauged on a 48/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 3.305 million cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation. When gauged on an 8/64-inch choke, the Reed C Well No. 3 potentialed 1.224 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well is 5.2 miles west of Laney in the Dowdy Ranch Field. The well is located 4.3 miles southwest of Hallsville with a depth of 10,710 feet. The well potentialed 2.286 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 26/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation. The HT Newman Estate Well No. 2 has been completed in the Little Cypress Bottom Field by Newman Corp. The well is three miles south of Harrison with a depth of 8,806 feet. The well flowed with 35 barrels of crude per day on an open choke. Production is in the Pettit formation. When gauged on a 28/64-inch choke, the Gillespie Well No. 1 potentialed 907,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. The well is 7.5 miles southwest of Marshall in the Hallsville, North Field. The well was completed to 10,550 feet by River Stone Energy Operating. Production is in the Hosston-Cotton Valley formation. Samson Lone Star has completed the Nolte Well No. 1 to 11,690 feet in the Waskom Field. The well is 5.2 miles north of Elysian Fields. This well was gauged on a 10/64-inch choke and potentialed 740,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Travis Peak formation. When gauged on a 48/64-inch choke, the Burleson, M.G. A Well No. 10 potentialed 2.400 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well is 4.8 miles northwest of Marquez in the Bear Grass Field. Anadarko Petroleum has completed the well to 13,955 feet. The Carthage, South Field has seen the William H. Walton GU 1 Well No. 2 completed by Chesapeake Operating. The well is 9.1 miles south of Carthage and bottoms at 9,600 feet. The well potentialed 1.000 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 40/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation. When gauged on an adjustable choke, the Hancock Unit Well No. 15 potentialed 1.119 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well is nine miles southeast of Carthage in the Carthage Field. Devon Energy Production completed the well to 9,234 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation. The Amber Kirby Well No. 1 is one mile north of Galloway in the Belle Bower Field. Upshur County
The Amoco Brawley Well No. 13 is five miles north of Longview in the Glenwood Field. TXOK Texas Energy Resources has completed the well to 11,126 feet. The well was gauged on a 20/64-inch choke and potentialed 1.193 million cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
