Food Bank Receives $30,000
East Texas Food Bank officials on Monday acknowledged a $30,000 donation and said a new study shows more needs to be done to feed the nation’s hungry.

The $30,000 from the Beaumont Foundation will allow the continuation and expansion of the Kids Café Program, an after-school nutrition program for youth, said Robert Bush, food bank executive director.

Bush also cited a new United States Department of Agriculture study showing that the number of people struggling to makes ends meet and put food on the table, has increased from 35.1 million to more than 35.5 million, including 12.6 million children.

East Texas Food Bank works with 200 partner agencies to help alleviate hunger in East Texas.
