KC Grades Recognized

Kilgore College named 40 students to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges list. The students, nominated by faculty members or themselves, must have a sophomore standing, completed at least 30 hours prior to fall 2007 and have a 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Nominees are chosen as members based on contributions made to the campus through involvement, as well as academic achievements. Listed by hometown with majors, they are:

Kilgore: Andrea Dukes, elementary education; Chanthra Easley, photography; Melissa Greene, journalism; Sonya Hoffman, tech; Mary Landers, occupational safety and health; Jessica Martin, general business; Raouls Noumbissi, engineering; Hollie Owens, tech; Kyle Shipp, sports management; Betsy Spencer, office professional.

Gladewater: Uvalda Holman, office professional; Rosemary Owens, office professional; Donna Westmoreland, office professional.

Longview: Jacob Adkisson, photography; Lindy Arocha, tech; Anthony Harris, photography/fine arts; Sarah Fields -Thomas, journalism; Sharron Lewis-Garrett, medical assisting; Debra McNamara, nursing; Kandi Steele, tech.

Henderson: Matthew Jordan, corrosion technology; Benjamin Thomas, corrosion technology; Laura Chambers, tech.

Gilmer: Melissa Benson, office professional; Brandi Jordon, office professional; Shirley Owens, office professional; Raymond Osborne, computer networking/repair; Tina Villafuerte, office professional.

Tyler Student Makes Delegation

Hildora Johnson, a student at Texas College, was selected to take part in the International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on business.

She will will join other American college students to discover a career focus.

She was also named to the National Dean’s List.
