A day after surrendering the lead late in a loss to Mount Pleasant because of being pressured into turnovers, Robert E. Lee's miscues caused it to surrender the game early in a 68-43 loss to Dallas Skyline.
It was one of five contests featured on the final day of play in the 10th Annual Burger King Classic held Saturday at UT Tyler's Louise Herrington Patriot Center.
In the other contests: Lindale outlasted Brownsboro to win 76-67 in overtime, Clarksville held on to beat Van (59-58), Mount Pleasant downed Chapel Hill (54-36) and T.K. Gorman got past All Saints (54-43).
Dallas Skyline 68, Lee 43
The Red Raiders led 18-16 in the second quarter before being outscored 17-7 the rest of the way to trail 33-25 at halftime.
It quickly went from bad to worse for REL in the third quarter as Lee committed numerous turnovers that Skyline turned into a 19-0 run.
"Their defense was impeccable," said Lee head coach Alan Johnston. "They had us out of rhythm and out of synch. They showed us why they are one of the top five teams in Class 5A this year."
Skyline's offense was provided by Zachary Williams, who led all players with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Trevoy Pointer had 14 points and Cameron Miles finished with 13 points.
Lee junior Kerry Jones was the lone double-figure man for the Red Raiders, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
REL's loss is its third in a row and it drops the Red Raiders to 1-3. Skyline is now 2-2.
The Red Raiders next face Nacogdoches at 7:30 p.m. Monday at REL Varsity Gym.

The Lindale Eagles outscored Brownsboro 11-2 in overtime to claim a come-from behind- victory.
The Eagles battled back from nine down in the last two minutes of regulation and tied the contest at 65-65 on a Cedric Johnson putback with 4.4 seconds left in the contest.
The Eagles received six points from Travis Rhea in the extra period, while going 4-of-4 at the charity stripe.
