Chronister Activity Continues In Cherokee
DEVELOPMENTAL
Cherokee County
The Chronister Heirs Well No. 24, No. 25, No. 26, No. 27, No. 28, No. 30 and No. 31 will be drilled in the Doyle Creek (Travis Peak) Field by XTO Energy. The wells will lie in the Durst, J Survey, A-15. The No. 24 and the No. 30 will hit 12,700 feet. The No. 25, the No. 26, the No. 27, the No. 27, the No. 28 and the No. 31 will hit 12,800 feet. The No. 24 is 4.6 miles northeast of Wells. The No. 25 is four miles north of Wells. The No. 26 is 4.3 miles northwest of Wells. The No. 27 is four miles northwest of Wells. The No. 28 is 3.7 miles northwest of Wells. The No. 30 is 6.1 miles north of Wells. The No. 31 is six miles northwest of Wells. These wells may also be drilled in the Doyle Creek (Pettit) Field.
Neumin Production will drill the Pettit Well No. 1 in a wildcat field 12.1 miles southeast of Rusk in the Dill, J/Elena Kimble Survey, A-13 to 11,400 feet. This well may also be drilled in the Reklaw (Travis Peak) Field.
The Doyle Creek (Travis Peak) Fields will see the Shelton Well No. 5 and No. 7 drilled by Southwestern Energy Production to 12,100 feet. The wells are 2.1 miles northeast of Wells in the Durst, J Survey, A-15 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.
In a lease three miles south of Rusk, in the Reklaw (Travis Peak) Field, the Castleberry Gas Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Cook, JT Survey, A-11. The well may also be drilled in the Reklaw (Woodbine) Field, or a wildcat field.
Freestone County
In a lease five miles south of Fairfield, in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field, the Utley "C" Well No. 36 will be drilled by Marathon Oil. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Inham, H Survey, A-314.
The Bragg Gas Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled by XTO Energy in the Stewards Mill (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. This well is 11.1 miles north of Fairfield in the Price, RD Survey, A-522 and will hit 12,700 feet.
XTO Energy will drill the W.H. Day, et al Gas Unit No. 1 in the Reed (Haynesville Consolidated) Field. The well will lie in the Reed, IH Survey, A-23 and is 1.3 miles southwest of Fairfield. Depth will be 13,000 feet.
Gregg County
In a lease 4.5 miles northeast of Kilgore, in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field, the Griffin Ranch G.U. 2 Well No. 11 will be drilled by Geo-vest of Texas. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64. The well may also be drilled in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.
The Griffin Ranch G.U. 6 Well No. 10 will be drilled 3.8 miles northeast of Kilgore in the Danville, East (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 13,000 feet by Geo-Vest of Texas. This well will lie in the Edwards, H Survey, A-64 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.
Harrison County
The T.B. Owens Gas Unit Well No. 7 will be drilled 4.1 miles east of Woodlawn in the Woodlawn (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 12,000 feet by BP America Production. This well will lie in the Craine, JB Survey, A-144.
In a lease 10.4 miles south of Marshall, in the Darco, Southeast (Cotton Valley) Field, the Slone "A" Well No. 2 will be drilled by Comstock Oil & Gas. The well will hit 10,500 feet in the Duncan, M Survey, A-197.
XTO Energy will drill the Oney, Henry Well No. 8 and No. 9 in the Whelan (Cotton Valley) Field. The wells will hit 12,500 feet in the Allbright, A Survey, A-24. The wells are 3.4 miles northwest of Harleton and may also be drilled in the Whelan (Travis Peak Prorated) Field.
In a lease 5.7 miles southwest of Hallsville, in a wildcat field, the Hart Gas Unit Well No. 13 will be drilled by Enervest Operating. The well will hit 11,500 feet in the Berry, M Survey, A-75 and may also be drilled in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field.
The Furrh Gas Unit No. 3 Well No. 10 is 5.6 miles southwest of Elysian Fields in a wildcat field. The well will hit 13,000 feet in the Luna, S Survey, A-401 and will be drilled by Penn Virginia Oil & Gas. The well may also be drilled in the Bethany (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, the Bethany (Pettit 6170) Field, or the Carthage, North (Cotton Valley) Field.
Neg Operating will drill the Rollie C. Sims Gas Unit Well No. 8 in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field to 12,000 feet and will lie in the John M Sorrelle Survey, A-645. Location of the well is 7.6 miles southeast of Hallsville and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

The Bohlwhite (Cotton Valley Lime) Field will see the Vanderbeek Well No. 2 drilled by Sinclair Oil & Gas to 18,500 feet. The well is 17.6 miles west of Centerville in the Copeland, J Survey, A-166. This well may also be drilled in the Grassy Lake (Cotton Valley Lime) Field, the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field or a wildcat field.
In a lease 2.3 miles northeast of Jewett, in a wildcat field, the A.G. Hill Gas Unit No. 1 will be drilled by Ensight III Energy Management. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the I&GN RR Co. Survey, A-987. The well may also be drilled in the Jewett (Travis Peak) Field.
BRG Lone Star will drill the Furlough Well No. 1 in a wildcat field. The well will hit 10,600 feet in the Hearn, TB Survey, A-351. The well is 2.9 miles southwest of Jewett and may also be drilled in the Branton (Rodessa) Field, the Bear Grass (Travis Peak) Field, or the Bear Grass (Pettit) Field.
The Jeter Well No. 1 will be drilled 3.1 miles east of Buffalo in the Red Oak (Dexter) Field. The well will hit 7,000 feet by Roberts & Hammack. This well will lie in the Harrington, A Survey, A-389.
Nacogdoches County
Kraker & Martin Energy will drill the George Cason Well No. 2 and the Cason, George Well No. 3 in the Black Bayou (Travis Peak) Field. The wells will hit 12,000 feet in the De La Cerda, N Survey, A-14. The No. 2 is 5.9 miles southeast of Nacogdoches and the No. 3 is 6.2 miles southeast of Nacogdoches. The No. 2 well may also be drilled in the Black Bayou (Glen Rose) Field, Black Bayou (Pettit) Field, or the Black Bayou (James) Field. The No. 3 well may also be drilled in the Black Bayou (Pettit) Field, Black Bayou (Glen Rose) Field, or a wildcat field.
In a lease four miles west of Garrison, in the Appleby, North (Travis Peak) Field, the Jones "A-1" Gas Unit Well No. 5 will be drilled by EOG Resources. The well will hit 10,200 feet in the Acosta, JJ Survey, A-65 and also be drilled in the Appleby, North (Pettit) Field.
The Ross G. Cartwright Well No. 3 will be drilled 3.3 miles southwest of Garrison in the Naconiche Creek (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 12,000 feet by Chesapeake Operating. This well will lie in the Anderson, JW Survey, A-62 and may also be drilled in the Naconiche Creek (Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, or a wildcat field.
Panola County
In a lease 15.7 miles northeast of Carthage, in the Bethany, East (Cotton Valley) Field, the Cavin Unit Well No. 15 will be drilled by Devon Energy Production to 10,000 feet in the Jordan, BC Survey, A-348.
The Southland Paper Co. Well No. 19 will be drilled 6.5 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 12,000 feet by Devon Energy Production. This well will lie in the Hanks, I Survey, A-271.
Lacy Operations will drill the Cameron Unit 1 Well No. 14 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will lie in the Lagrone, WA Survey, A-390 and is 7.4 miles northeast of Beckville. Depth will be 9,815 feet.
In a lease 6.6 miles southeast of Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the Sallie, J Neal Unit Well No. 10H will be drilled by Anadarko E&P to 12,000 feet in the Soape, JJ Survey, A-618.
The Billy Sealey GU Well No. 5 will be drilled by Goodrich Petroleum in the Beckville (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 11,000 feet in the Robinson, JP Survey, A-571. This well may also be drilled in the Beckville (Pettit 6800) Field or the Beckville (Travis Peak) Field.
The Bethany, East (Cotton Valley) Field will see the Miles Bell Well No. 10 drilled by Chesapeake Operating. The well is 12.7 miles northeast of Carthage in the Pressley, WA Survey, A-556. This well will hit 12,000 feet.
In a lease 1.9 miles southeast of Fair Play, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field, the Holland Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 2 will be drilled by Cranton Energy Holdings III. The well will hit 10,250 feet in the Morris, W Survey, A-470.
Rusk County
In a lease 1.8 miles northwest of Minden, in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field, the Minden SWD Well No. 3D will be drilled by Minden Gathering Services. The well will hit 6,700 feet in the Reeves, DW Survey, A-690.
Energen Resources will drill the Minor, A. Gas Unit Well No. 11 to 11,000 feet in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will lie in the Walling, J Survey, A-42 and is four miles northwest of Tatum.
The Lee, W.C. Well No. 2 will be drilled 3.3 miles southeast of Kilgore in the Danville (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field. The well will be drilled to 9,900 feet by Encore Operating. This well will lie in the Landers, L Survey, A-477.
In a lease 4.8 miles southeast of Henderson, in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Powell Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 8 will be drilled by National Onshore. The well will hit 12,000 feet in the Jackson CSL Survey, A-15 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field, or in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field.
The Perry Thompson Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 12 will be drilled six miles southeast of Elderville in the Oak Hill (Cotton Valley) Field. The well will be drilled to 12,000 feet by Verado Energy, Inc. This well will lie in the James McClain Survey, A-19 and may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

In a lease 6.4 miles northwest of San Augustine, in the Huxley (6100) Field, the Ester Greer Davis Gas Unit Well No. 1H will be drilled by Hunt Petroleum. The well will hit 7,500 feet in the Alcorn, L Survey, A-981.
Smith County
Southwestern Energy Production will drill the Jesse Randolph Odom Gas Unit 1 Well No. 10 and the Kirkpatrick Gas Unit 1 Well No. 17 in the Overton (Cotton Valley Sand) Field. The No. 10 is two miles southwest of Troup in the George, W Survey, A-1099 and will hit 12,400 feet. The No. 17 is 0.6 miles northeast of Troup in the Gee, E Survey, A-10 and will hit 12,500 feet.
In a lease 4.2 miles northwest of Winona, in the Winona (Paluxy B) Field, the Mary Lou Manson will be drilled by Griffin Operating. The well will hit 8,000 feet in the Brown, MT Survey, A-155. This well may also be drilled in the Winona (Paluxy A) Field.

In a lease 5.8 miles southeast of Fairfield, in the Nan-Su-Gail Field, Devon Energy Production has filed first production reports for the Nan-Su-Gail GU Well No. 14-H. This well hit 15,360 feet and potentialed 10.167 million cubic feet of natural gas per day on an 83/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated formation.
Gregg County
When gauged on a 3/8-inch choke, the Frederick Well No. 1 potentialed 156,000 cubic feet of gas per day. The well is two miles north of Longview in the White Oak Field. Basa Resources drilled the well to 10,979 feet. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand formation.
Harrison County
The Kennedy Well No. 1 is six miles south of Marshall in the Blocker Field and bottoms at 10,185 feet. The well was drilled by Comstock Oil & Gas. When gauged on a 24/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 161,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Page formation.
Three wells were completed by Forest Oil. The Briggs CV Gas Unit Well No. 3 is 11 miles northeast of Marshall in the Woodlawn Field and bottoms at 9,930 feet. When gauged on a 22/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 716,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. The Spiller No. 1 Gas Unit Well No. 1 is 13 miles southeast of Marshall in the Hardwood Field and bottoms at 10,270 feet. When gauged on a 26/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 1.000 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The Briggs CV Gas Unit Well No. 4 is 11 miles northeast of Marshall in the Woodlawn Field and bottoms at 9,939 feet. When gauged on a 26/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 403,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
Samson Lone Star has completed the Coleman GU 2 Well No. 5 in the Waskom Field to 11,900 feet. The well is 6.5 miles northwest of Waskom. The well potentialed 648,000 cubic feet of gas per day on a 28/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
When gauged on a 14/64-inch choke, the Bookout GU Well No. 4 potentialed 2.784 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Penn Virginia Oil & Gas completed the well to 9,978 feet in the Carthage, North Field three miles northeast of Crossroads. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.
The D'Asto Well No. 1 and the Keasler, S.J. Well No. 2 have been completed by Chalker Energy Management II. The No. 1 is 7.8 miles southeast of Marshall in the Hardwood Field with a depth of 10,120 feet. This well was gauged on a 30/64-inch choke and potentialed 967,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation. The No. 2 is 7.1 miles southwest of Harleton in the Lansing, North Field with a depth of 10,820 feet. The well was gauged on a 34/64-inch choke and potentialed 585,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Production is in the Cotton Valley, Lower formation.

In a lease 1.3 miles southwest of Weches, in the Decker Switch Field, XTO Energy has filed first production reports for the Harry McLean Well No. 1. This well hit 12,936 feet and potentialed 246,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day on an 18/64-inch choke. Production is in the Travis Peak formation.
