Balance Pilates Studio Awarded
Balance Pilates Studio in downtown Tyler was named Best Adaptive Reuse Project, in the small city category, by the Texas Downtown Association.
The winners were announced last week during the Texas Downtown Revitalization Conference sponsored by TDA and Texas Main Street Program.
Heart of Tyler Director Beverly Abell was elected vice president of the TDA Board of Directors at the conference held in Fort Worth.
TDA is a statewide nonprofit organization comprising more than 400 members involved in downtown revitalization projects.
The Best Adaptive Reuse Award, Small City Category, recognizes excellence in adaptive reuse, which is the conversion of existing or underutilized buildings into new uses in a small city. The building housing the studio was previously a Kress Department Store.
