EXPANSION
Dr. James J. Galizia, an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler, has begun seeing patients at Henderson Memorial Hos-pital, the health center an-nounced.
Dr. Galizia is a board-certified cardiologist with University Physician Associates and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and blood vessel diseases UPA is a physician practice associated with UTHCT.

NEW ASSIGNMENT
The Conduit Division of Robroy Industries in Gilmer announced Jeff Riestenberg has joined it as national sales manager.
Riestenberg will be responsible for planning, managing and directing the sales activity for Robroy's PVC coated conduit product lines. He has more than 25 years of experience in the electrical products industry.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Hibbs-Hallmark & Co. was one of 13 insurance agencies in Texas selected by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America as a Best Practices Agency. The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas reported that Texas had more agencies selected for this status than any other state.
Of 800 agencies nominated to participate in the study, 195 qualified for the recognition. The study looked at customer service, growth and financial management.
Gary Howell, president of Hibbs-Hallmark, said the recognition "is one of the highest honors an agency can receive."

The Fresnius Medical Care of Southeast Tyler clinic, 3826 Troup Highway, was recognized by Fresnius as a Center of Excellence. Fresnius is the nation's largest provider of dialysis care last year.
Other Fresnius clinics in or near East Texas to be recognized with this status were in Gilmer, Palestine, Corsicana and Carthage.

Dr. Richard Coker was one of the featured speakers at the annual Mid-Atlantic Center for Advanced Den-tal Study meeting in Pinehurst, N.C.
Dr. Coker spoke on the importance of communications and human relations in the dental practice. In practice in Tyler since 1972, Dr. Coker specializes in smile makeovers, headache prevention, reconstructive dentistry and oral appliance therapy.

Jericho's Half Off Books opened at 3320 Troup Highway, Suite 135, owner George Jones announced.
The store carries a selection of new and used books, records, DVDs, CDs, cassettes, comics and collectibles. It buys, sells and trades. This is the second store, Jones said. The first one opened three years ago in Longview.

Texas Cooperative Extension will have a food protection management certification class for restaurant owners and managers, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Cherokee County Electric Cooperative meeting room in Rusk. A Circle of Ten Inc.-Network for Collaboration will have its Sixth Annual Funders' Forum and Networking Gathering in Athens. It will begin Oct. 25 with a dinner with the funders at the East Texas Arboretum. The forum will be Oct. 26 at the Cain Center, 915 S. Palestine St. More than 30 representatives from federal, state and private organizations will attend this year's event, according to information from A Circle of Ten. Between 200 and 300 leaders from universities, schools, hospitals, clinics, libraries, towns and nonprofit agencies are anticipated to attend the event, which will include funding panels, consultations, exhibits and networking.

Randy Marshall, leader of Speaker's College, a Dallas-based communications training company, will be guest speaker at the East Texas Estate Planning Council meeting at Hollytree Country Club. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m. Continuing education credit is available to certified public accountants and attorneys. Buffet-style lunch is $20.
