Gladewater Man Killed In Collision
A Gladewater man died Friday evening following a two vehicle head-on collision.
T.J. Miles Jr., 36, died at the scene, according to a report by Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Robert Callaway,

The wreck occurred at 5:50 p.m., a mile and a half south of Gilmer on Texas Highway 271.

Officials said Miles, driving a Pontiac Sunfire was traveling southbound in the inside lane of Texas Highway 271, and James A. Williams, 18, of Pittsburg was driving a Buick Century, northbound in the southbound inside lane, on the wrong side of the roadway.

Miles swerved to the right to avoid the oncoming vehicle, but the two struck head-on in the outside lane about a mile and a half south of Gilmer.

Miles was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace precinct 4 judge Linda Ray.

Williams was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler for treatment of sustained injury during the crash. He is listed in fair condition.
