HAWKINS - A Big Sandy teenager died after his car hydroplaned and collided with another car on Farm-to-Market 14 Tuesday afternoon.
James Matthew Baker, 17, was northbound on FM 14. His vehicle struck a vehicle in the southbound lane around 4:50 p.m., said a Department of Public Safety spokesman. There was a light rain and the road was wet, the spokesman said.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene. A 53-year-old Winnsboro man who was driving the second vehicle received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, the spokesman said.
