What is Twitter?
Twitter is a service which allows people to receive 140 character messages from other “Twitterers” whom they choose to follow, and to send their own 140 character “tweets” to those who choose to follow them. By choosing to follow any of our TylerPaper.com Twitter accounts, you can stay abreast of the news you want to read. Most of our “tweets” will include links to help you find articles on our website.

You can see a good list of “Getting Started” questions and answers here.

How can I use Twitter to follow TylerPaper.com?
After setting up your own Twitter account, log in, then click on one of the TylerPaper.com Twitter account names listed on the left. That will take you to the page displaying all of the “tweets” sent by that account. Under the picture, you should see a button labeled “Follow.” Click that button and you’ll start receiving all of the tweets sent by that account. If you don’t see the “Follow” button under the picture, you’re not yet signed in to your twitter account, so you can do so by clicking on the “Sign In” link in the top right area of each page.

For any Twitter account you choose to follow, the tweets will, by default, only be sent to your Twitter.com page. If you’d like to have the tweets for a particular account (like TylerPaper for breaking news items) sent directly to your phone as text messages, you can find instructions to add your phone here, then follow the instructions here to turn on phone updates for each TylerPaper.com Twitter account as you wish.

About Our Twitter Bird
We decided our Twitter bird logo ought to reflect our pride in our state, so it has been modified to show the colors of a true Texas Bluebird. Read about Texas Bluebirds here.
