Wanted to share, in case you have anyone who covers stories like this at the paper. My friend, Marcus Swinney, reached out on Facebook, asking friends if they'd like to do something nice for the homeless in Tyler. So they went out (one) morning to serve a homemade meal and pass out blankets and sweaters that he collected. A very caring man, doing for others. The kind of story that we need to hear more of.

Thanks to Tasha Tobler for the perfect illustration of Team Hawk's mantra: 2014 - Do All Things With Love.

Nice to see you this morning, Brian Brandt. Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2014!

— Leslie Wilson Watson, Tyler

I adore my husband Maurice more than he

knows. He has the funniest stories, a great sense of humor and the cutest laugh that makes my heart smile. One thing that still cracks me up about this man from Oregon, who has lived in East Texas umpteen years is, he's still surprised to see someone dressed in total camouflage. I love you Maurice Peterson!

If I forget, wanted to say Happy New Year to all my friends and family. Each and every one hold a dear place in my heart!

Be safe and make good choices!
