“Some of the best days of your life haven’t happened yet …”

I received this out of the blue from my dear friend Mechele Mills. Happy is knowing your friends care even when you don’t know they do. You are a doll! You have no idea how much this message means to me. Thank you!

— Vel Williamson

Today is my baby boy's sixth birthday, and he tells me I can't carry him like a baby anymore, and I said, “Prove it. Show me your muscles.”

And he busted out with doing 10 pushups. I was impressed. Happy birthday, Michael Don. I love you little man!

— Ginger Chandler,

Sweet surprise to run into this beautiful face today! Miss her! Extra bonus of some snuggles with James — with Arlene Moretich Murphand and Laura Murph-Elam.

— Suzi Yuill Streit,

This evening when we were driving back from retrieving the girls from the grandparents (they had spent a week with them), Rachel, 8, handed Peyton and Blair (her siblings) each $1 of her money. I asked her what she was doing.

Her reply, “Practicing being a grandmother."

I asked her what giving money had to do with bring a grandmother, and her reply was, “It is not the money-giving but being kind.”

— Laura Lamb,

The Robert E. Lee PTA would like to thank the teachers and staff of REL High School for all the hard work and preparation for the 2013-14 school year!

It promises to be a wonderful year! Thank you all!

— Sarah Starr,

The very fact that the Tyler Morning Telegraph is honoring the World War II veterans by publishing their stories makes me very happy. I appreciate Nelson Clyde and Jamie Bridges. Jamie is doing an excellent job of relaying the veterans’ stories.

— Pat Statton,

Exhausted, but it's a happy tired. Martha Berry has long been my Living Treasure. Now the Cherokee Nation agrees. What a perfect evening.

— Dave Berry,

Kindness rocks. Thanks to my dear friend Stacey Turner Holliday for my sweet treat. It made my day! I love you, girlie.

— Denise Rowe Hawk, Tyler

Thanks to the people who walk the walk! Jennifer Cook, for example, who puts her energy and actions into the positive vision she holds.

— Beth Lytle,

Shout out to the most amazing woman on the planet, Christy Kennedy. While I work on the road out of town, she takes care of our home, our children, works and still finds time to throw me a surprise party when I do come back.

Awesome wife. Awesome mother. Awesome friend.

— Michael Kennedy, Bullard
