Normal summer weather will continue as East Texas lies on the eastern edge of a ridge of high pressure centered over the Desert Southwest. The ridge will shift eastward and position itself over Texas this weekend driving temperatures higher into the mid- and upper 90s. There will be a slight chance of showers and an occasional thunderstorm each afternoon. The ridge will shift back to the west during the middle of next week, but temperatures will stay in the mid-90s.
