Look for high pressure aloft to continue clamping down on East Texas through the weekend. This will push our temperatures into the mid- to upper-90s today and Sunday. Clouds will be hard to come by, too. That being said, a stray sea breeze shower across the southern most counties of East Texas cannot be ruled out each afternoon. But these will be spotty at best. By about Tuesday, an unusually strong cold front will approach the area and provide showers and thunderstorms. Also, the winds aloft will give a chance for additional rainfall chances through the latter part of the week. Rainfall and clouds will of course give a break to the July heat – which is always a blessing during the middle of the month.
