High pressure has strengthened over East Texas, so rain chances are slim. High temperatures will be near 95 degrees today and Wednesday. Winds will blow from the south of 5 to 10 mph. A trough of low pressure over the eastern states will ease westward into our area and bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms from Wednesday night through the Independence Day weekend. The Fourth of July will be partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
