This week leading up to the Fourth of July will start hot and dry with high pressure strengthening over East Texas. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s today and Tuesday. A trough of low pressure over the eastern states will spread far enough to the west to give us a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms starting Wednesday night and lasting through Sunday. South winds 10 to 15 mph today will gust up to 25 mph at times.
