East Texas is in for more showers and thunderstorms as a trough of low pressure moves directly over the area today. Some of the storms will produce heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Expect south winds of 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures will be held down in the mid-80s in areas that receive rain. Thunderstorms are expected Friday with decreasing chances of rain through the weekend. The first half of next week looks dry with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s by Tuesday.
