Rain, storms ahead

A trough of low pressure extending from Canada southward through the southern Plains pushed a cold front to the Red River. Thunderstorms developed along the front, and outflow from those storms will create boundaries along which more storms will develop this week. The clouds and rain will keep temperatures down in the mid- to high 80s through Friday, and rainfall amounts are expected to exceed 2 inches in a few locations. As the rain decreases, temperatures will return to normal low 90s by the weekend.
