This weekend will be pleasant — especially when you compare it to the recent past, thanks to a cut-off upper-level area of low pressure that will be slow to cross the country, out of the Southwest. This system will continue to pump a lot of moisture over the state through the weekend, and quite a bit of rainfall over the western half of Texas. The moisture will show up as cloud cover for our area. This will help to keep temperatures in check. By Monday, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will come back into the forecast and they will stay there through the end of the week.
