After well-below normal temperatures this past week, the warming process has gotten underway. It will be rather subtle on today, thanks to the immense amount of drier air that has penetrated the Gulf of Mexico. However, the return of a south wind will help in the moistening process at the surface by Sunday. This will bring back the familiar May humidity to East Texas. Unfortunately any legitimate rainfall potential will hold off until late in the week.
There are signs of good things on the horizon for Mother’s Day weekend, in the form of beneficial rainfall. Look for Above Normal temps to extend through the upcoming weekend, as well. The additional humidity will make it feel even warmer.
