Welcome to the first weekend of spring! While temperatures Saturday will be seasonable, they will cool somewhat on Saturday night, as a cool front will pass through the area — taking the mercury down about 10 degrees cooler on Sunday. The normal high this time of year is about 68 degrees. Showers and a few thunderstorms will affect the East Texas area, off and on, throughout the day on Saturday and heading into the evening hours ahead of the front. Look for additional showers to continue throughout Saturday night and into Sunday. Rainfall totals will average one quarter to one half inch across East Texas, with some isolated higher totals. Severe Weather is not expected throughout the weekend. Dry weather will take over by late-day on Sunday. Tyler’s year-to-date rainfall deficit now sits in excess of 4 inches. So, significant rainfall is needed to help avoid extreme heat during the upcoming Summer.
