Temperatures reached the mid- to high 70s ahead of a cold front that crossed East Texas Sunday. Cooler air behind the front will keep today’s highs near 60 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms will return to the area tonight and Tuesday followed by another surge of cool air which will drop temperatures to near 37 degrees by Wednesday morning. Highs will be near 48 degrees Wednesday afternoon. Lows will drop to just below freezing Thursday morning.
