Say hello to winter again. Cold northeast winds 10 to 20 with gusts to 25 mph will produce wind chills in the 20s much of today. The high is expected to be near 40 degrees.
Moisture aloft will work its way over the cold air in the southern counties of East Texas this afternoon. Light rain is possible south of I-20, and there could be some light sleet or snow in Deep East Texas. Little accumulation is expected with minimal if any adverse effects on travel.
Lows Friday will be in the low 20s with highs in the mid to high 30s. Lows Saturday will be in the high 20s. The rest of the weekend will be mostly sunny and warmer before another surge of cold air arrives early next week.
