A strong storm system over the western U.S. will move eastward across the Plains over the next 48 hours. There is a chance of organized severe weather in East Texas late this afternoon, tonight and early Thursday. This includes more than 2 inches of rainfall, damaging thunderstorm winds and the possibility of a few isolated tornadoes. The rain is expected to end by Thursday night. Once the system moves through, cooler, drier air will bring us sunny skies over the weekend.
