A cold front will reach the Red River Saturday and become stationary across East Texas where it will linger for several days. Gulf moisture will continue to ride southeast winds into Texas, and a tropical system near Baja will tap into Pacific moisture which will spread over the state. Rain and thunderstorms will begin Saturday and last through Wednesday and possibly Thursday. Rainfall amounts are expected to range between 1 and 2 inches with heavier amounts over Central Texas.
Temperatures will be warm through the weekend; then, cooler air will move in and drop highs into the 70s and lows into the 50s early next week.
