East Texas weather will include a few more isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will slip out of Canada and cover the eastern U.S. through the weekend. On Friday, a cold front will back into East Texas from the northeast and bring lower temperatures for the weekend. A disturbance in the tropics is moving across the Yucatan Peninsula and will emerge into the southwest Gulf.
It has the potential to become a tropical storm and it could supply moisture for rain in Texas early next week
