Small chance for rain

Dry weather will persist this week with the exception that a weak surface boundary will provide a slight chance of rain to deep East Texas starting at midweek. A low pressure area in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico is not drawing moisture toward Texas. Instead, the moisture is going east and dumping heavy rainfall on the coast from Mississippi to Florida. High temperatures in East Texas will be in the mid 90s through the weekend.
