The pattern of afternoon showers and thunderstorms we saw during the weekend will repeat itself today with high temperatures reaching the mid 90s. Winds will be southwest 10 to 15 mph. The upper ridge of high pressure across the West is expected to expand to the central and southern plains today and shut down the chances of rain to a minimum through the middle of the week. High temperatures will climb into the high 90s by Friday.
A cold front is forecast to drift into the area over the weekend, so that will bring back a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms and drop high temperatures into the mid 90s Saturday and Sunday.
